As a new student, we would like to welcome you to the Northwest family. We are glad you have chosen to continue your education at Northwest Missouri State University. You are probably ready to register for classes and you may be unsure of what has to be done before classes begin. New Student Orientation and Pre-Registration will give you an opportunity to get the information you are looking for.
New Student Orientation and Preregistration is a half-day program that will help you become more acquainted with the campus and prepare you for the coming trimester. You will receive an overview of student services, learn how to read your degree audit and receive information about the Financial Assistance Online Entrance Counseling requirements. You will also have an opportunity to meet with an advisor who will help you register for classes.
Transfer and returning students beginning classes in the summer or fall will attend New Student Orientation and Preregistration in April, preregister in summer and attend orientation during Advantage, or attend General Registration in August. (First-time freshmen enrolling in the fall will attend SOAR instead of New Student Orientation and Preregistration.) All new or returning students beginning classes in the spring will attend New Student Orientation and Preregistration in late fall or General Registration in January just before classes begin.
