What You Need To Know

How Does It Work?

Meal plans are geared specifically to make your life easier. A magnetic stripe on the back of your student ID card works with our computer system to identify you as a meal plan member. Depending on whether you live on or off campus and which meal plan you choose, your meal plan will be made up of: unlimited swipes, a set number of swipes, Resident Dollars, Flex Dollars and/or an inclining balance.

Swipes give you access to the all-you-care-to-eat residential restaurant on the first floor of the Student Union. Just swipe and eat whatever you like!

Resident Dollars are available for students who live on-campus and work on the same principle as a bank debit card. Each time you make a food purchase at one of our retail locations, Provisions on Demand convenience stores, vending machine or concession stand, the total cost of your meal is subtracted from the dollar balance on your account. Resident Dollars will also continue to roll over as long as you are a student at Northwest.

Flex Dollars are available for students who live off-campus, faculty and staff. Flex Dollars work on the same principle as a bank debit card. Each time you make a food purchase at one of our retail locations, Provisions on Demand convenience stores, vending machine or concession stand, the total cost of your meal is subtracted from the dollar balance on your account. Flex Dollars can also be used for pizza delivery from Dominos or Pizza Hut. Flex dollars will continue to roll over as long as you are a student at Northwest.

With Inclining balance, your ID card becomes a credit card that you can use for food purchases. Twice a month on the 1st and the 15th, your total charges are billed to your University account. Use as much or as little as you want.

What Are My Meal Plan Choices?

Our meal plans provide you with many options. Select a plan that fits your status (resident or commuter) and your lifestyle.

Off Campus Dining Options

Campus Dining is also proud of its continuing partnership with the local Domino's and Pizza Hut. Flex Dollars and inclining balance can be used to order food for delivery.

Special Diets

Students requiring special diets should contact the dietitian (660.562.1252) to make arrangements. It has been found that most special needs can be met after appropriate consultation. Weight loss programs and commercial diets (i.e., Weight Watchers) are not reasons to cancel a meal plan. Please consult with the dietitian about weight loss programs.

Lost or stolen ID cards

Campus dining has been working over the summer to provide our customers with additional shut off features in the case of a lost or stolen ID card. You now have two options to report your card as lost or stolen. You can contact the Auxillary Services office at 660.562.1430 or you can complete the "Lost/Stolen" card form on our website.
