What specific job(s) is the program designed to prepare its graduates to perform?

The occupations that this certificate program could potentially prepare you for includes but is not limited to the following occupations:

SOC 19-3092 Geographers
SOC 17-3031 Mapping Technicians
SOC 17-1021 Mapping

Other general areas where this certificate is used are Forestry, Planning, Precision Agriculture, Target Marketing, Engineering, and Land Reclamation as well as many others.

How successful have the program's graduates been in finding employment in the targeted job(s)?

Nearly 100% of students enrolled in this certificate program are currently employed and are using this program to enhance their skill set for their current positions.

Do students generally graduate from the program within the expected (normal) amount of time?

Courses are offered to allow this program to be completed in one calendar year ( three trimesters). Because almost all students are employed full-time while enrolled and therefore only take one class at a time, the average completion time is five trimesters. All classes needed for this certificate program are fully acceptable into the regular Graduate GIS Degree Program.

What is the total cost of the program that students will need funding to cover?

This is a 15 hour Graduate level certificate. Cost per credit hour for Missouri residents is $324.72 and non-resident cost per credit hour is $561.94.

How much loan debt (federal, private, school-based) do students typically incur in the program?

Most students generally only take one class per trimester and are therefore not eligible for federal loans so they assume very little to no loan debt for this program.

Fewer than ten students completed the program 2011-12 so to protect their privacy no medium loan debt is reported.
