Instructors Brenda Jones and Allison Strong and Assistant Professor Cindy Kenkel of the Department of Marketing and Management recently toured the corporate headquarters of online shoe retailer Zappos.com.

Based in Henderson, Nev., the electronic commerce company has received extensive media coverage for its unique corporate culture and commitment to customer service. Currently the biggest online shoe retailer in the world, Zappos.com grossed more than $800 million in sales in 2007 and is projecting $1 billion in sales for 2008.

While at the Zappos.com offices, Jones, Strong and Kenkel met with human resources and marketing managers as well as employees from "The Zoo," the company’s on-site training facility.

The three faculty members plan to share information acquired during their visit with students and are working with Zappos.com to develop a possible event in conjunction with the Northwest chapter of the American Marketing Association.
