Knox artwork exhibited at Northwest Kansas City Center

The artwork of Lee Knox will be displayed at the Northwest Missouri State University Kansas City Center (Blue Jay Tower Plaza, 8 Victory Lane) in Liberty beginning Monday, Nov. 2, through the end of the month.

Knox is a writer, author, public speaker and world traveler who picked up a paintbrush and put watercolor to paper while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Romania. She has been painting pictures from her travel photographs ever since.

“When I travel, my main interests are the three a’s – architecture, art and anyplace that serves desserts,” Knox said. “I always return home satiated with abundant photos of buildings and skylines. To me, gazing on architecture is a personal experience, reflecting the features of time and place like few other subjects can.”

Lee received a bachelor’s from the University of Kansas and lives in Kansas City. She studied with watercolorist Tricia Spencer through the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and spent time in Italy under the tutelage of British artist Russell Aspinall.

The Northwest Kansas City Center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
