Town, Badami featured in faculty recital

Two members of Northwest’s Department of Music, Dr. Stephen Town, professor, and Dr. Charles Badami, instructor, will present a faculty recital at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, in the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building’s Charles Johnson Theater. The event is free and open to the public.

Town, a baritone, is best known as an art song specialist and has performed throughout the United States, England and Austria. Town is a conductor and musicologist, as well, and continues his work in these domains.

In addition to teaching, Badami serves as a collaborative pianist at Northwest where he works with the University choirs, vocal and instrumental studios and collaborates with other faculty.

The recital will feature works by Gerald Finzi (English songs on poems of Thomas Hardy) and Charles Stanford (German songs of poems of Heinrich Heine), and Badami will play several keyboard pieces by J.S. Bach.
