In addition, Dr. Michele Joleen Dickey-Kotz, who received her Ed.D. through the program at the end of the fall 2008 semester, is the recipient of the Dan H. Cockrell Dissertation Award.

The award, established in 2004 in honor of Dr. Dan Cockrell, who served for many years as a professor with the statewide cooperative Ed.D. program, recognizes outstanding research in the field of educational leadership by Ed.D. candidates.

Dickey-Kotz, whose dissertation is titled “Self-reported Change in First Year College Student Self Concept as Measured by the CIRP and YFCY,” is an assistant professor of education at Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa.
