Imagine... a community of young scholars living in an intellectually stimulating environment where lifelong learning, integrity and quality are cultivated.
Welcome to the Missouri Academy
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Missouri Academy website. The Missouri Academy is an early-entrance-to-college, two-year residential program, located on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. It is designed for talented high school students with demonstrated high performance and interest in science, mathematics and computing. Students typically apply for admission to the Missouri Academy during 10th grade (or equivalent) in their traditional high school, and thus attend the Missouri Academy for two years, replacing the junior and senior years of traditional high school.
While at the Missouri Academy, students are enrolled in a curriculum consisting of college coursework taught by professors at Northwest Missouri State University. Thus, Missouri Academy students attend classes together with traditional university students, and professors have the same expectations of Missouri Academy students as they do for traditional university students. Students who complete this two-year program earn an Associate of Science degree as well as a high school diploma. This is an opportunity for exceptional students to live, socialize and study in a living/learning community of peers.
On behalf of the Missouri Academy staff and the Northwest Missouri State University community, I invite you to surf our website for more information about us or to call or e-mail us. Our staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
