The Macmillan World Atlas
Contained in this atlas is a prologue with map keys, explanation of map symbols, and map samples. Followed by this are sections with cartographic information, geographic information, and maps for the World, North and Middle America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Oceania, Africa, and the United States and Southern Canada. The last section included is an index.
Oxford Dictionary of the World
This dictionary contains around 12,000 entries. "In a simple A to Z format it comprises topographical descriptions of places in every country of the world, descriptions of peoples, languages, and religions, and definitions of selected geographical and environmental terms." Also included are appendices and tables containing "reference data relating to some 5,000 locations," written in a "in a straightforward readable style with the minimum of symbols and abbreviations, and a number of maps are included as an aid to spatial reference."
