There are online instructional components available below for students use.

New Students can become familiar with Owens Library by reviewing your green library information sheets, entitled, "Owens Library Student Handout," looking at the library maps online, and touring Owens Library. If you have problems, call extension 1639 or e-mail Patricia J. Wyatt for assistance. Complete the scavenger hunt after attending the Owens Library tours during Advantage Week and viewing the Library4U exercise (available to you on your e-Companion class site).To view this exercise, click the Library tab, then click Activity. Review the directions and complete the Freshman Seminar Freshman Seminar Handbook Quiz. The Handbook Quiz is to be completed by students in order to acquaint them with library locations, policies and the library Web site. The Owens Library Student Handbook was handed out at the Advantage Library tours, but can be viewed online by clicking here.

The Career assignment is designed to teach you how to use Occupational Outlook Handbook and Discover to research an occupation. Check with your Freshman Seminar instructor to inquire about any added instructions for the essay and the due date of the assignment.

The Freshman Seminar program web page offers links to the syllabus, the faculty handbook, the peer advisor handbook and links to resources pertaining to Freshman Seminar and issues that effect new students.

Most Freshman Seminar instructors have an e-Companion site. Ask your instructor about your specific section of Freshman Seminar and log on.
