Awarded to a first-time freshman majoring in one of the areas in the
Melvin D. and Valorie G. Booth College of Business and Professional
Studies (accounting, advertising, agriculture,
communication, economics, finance, interactive digital media,
international business, management, marketing and mass media). It is a nonrenewable scholarship.

Available to graduates of South Harrison High School in Bethany, Mo.,
accepted as entering freshman. Must have minimum GPA of 2.50, financial
need and have a declared major and degree within the Melvin D. &
Valorie G. Booth College of Business and Professional Studies, with
first preference to "business" majors. Contact South Harrison High
School counselor for application.

Department-Wide
This scholarship will be presented to students with a major in
Accounting, Marketing, or Finance. A minimum of 60 credit hours is
required with at least 30 of those hours earned from Northwest Missouri
State University, and a minimum overall GPA of 3.50. Applicants will be
considered on their prior record of good citizenship and leadership
potential as well as an excellent potential for success in the business
world. Three recommendations, including one from a faculty member of the
Melvin and Valorie Booth College of Business and Professional Studies
are required for the Cook-Imes Distinguished Scholarship.
Recipient shall maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5, have declared a major in Management, Marketing or Finance, have demonstrated leadership ability, and be classified as junior or senior.

Awarded to a full-time sophomore, junior or senior. One
award for students actively involved with the Wesley Foundation pursuing
any academic major with minimum 2.5 GPA. One award for students with
minimum 3.0 GPA majoring in area of: accounting, finance, marketing, management, international business, mass communications and computer management systems.

Awarded
to a full-time sophomore, junior or senior. Recipient shall maintain a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.0, have declared a major in the area of business and show
financial need. Preference may be given to graduates of Worth County High
School.
Awarded
to business majors who are graduates of a high school in St. Joseph, Missouri,
with a preference for the public schools. Recipients shall have a minimum
classification of sophomore and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75. Financial
need may be considered.
This scholarship shall be used to offset overseas costs associated with any international business study program arranged through the University and considered part of the recipient’s academic program. It is awarded to a full time business major demonstrating outstanding academic achievement in the classroom. Recipient shall have also demonstrated a need for financial assistance in order to complete the study abroad program.
Awarded
to a graduate business major that demonstrates need and a willingness to give
back to the community. Preference will
be given to St. Joseph/Northwest Missouri area students.

Recipient must be an upperclassman majoring in business with a minimum
GPA of 3.0 and have completed a minimum of 27 credit hours at Northwest.)
A scholarship is awarded to a worthy student in business
administration who resides on campus. Eligible are juniors and seniors
at Northwest the following year and gradute students who will be working
toward an MBA the next year. Selection is made on the basis of
scholarship and financial need of the student. Preference is given to
students who have not received any other scholarships.
The Sterling Surrey Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic
excellence to an undergraduate student majoring in one of the areas of
business. An applicant must be completing their junior year
and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50. The faculty scholarship committee
screens applicants and recommends top candidates to the final selection
committee.
Recipient shall be classified as a University sophomore, junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5. All applicants must submit to the selection committee a minimum 500-word essay on why they choose to study abroad and how they expect the experience to enhance their degree program.

Accounting/Economics/Finance
Applicant must be a student who is majoring in accounting. The accounting faculty selects the recipient on the basis of scholarship, leadership ability, and the potential for a successful career in accounting.

The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship program provides financial assistance to outstanding accounting students who demonstrate potential to become leaders in the CPA profession. Recipients receive $2,500 for one year. Scholarship aid may be used only for the payment of expenses that directly relate to obtaining an account education (e.g.; tuition, fees, room and board, and/or books and materials only).
The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship program provides financial assistance to liberal arts and non-business degree holders who are pursuing both graduate studies in account and the CPA licensure. These awards are intended to encourage students with little or no previous accounting education to consider professional accounting careers. Recipients receive $5,000 for one year. Scholarship aid may be used only for the payment of expenses that directly relate to obtaining an accounting education (e.g.; tuition, feeds, room and board, and/or books and materials only).
The AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students provides financial awards to outstanding minority students to encourage their pursuit of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Scholarship funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs, Robert Half International and the Accounting Education Foundation of the Texas Society of CPAs. Recipients receive individual awards of $1,500-$3,000 per academic year. Scholarship aid may be used only for the payment of expenses that directly relate to obtaining an accounting education (e.g.; tuition, fees, room and board, and/or books and materials only). Scholarship payments are sent directly to the student's financial aid office on behalf of the student at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
Any junior or senior finance major who has a 3.0 GPA may apply for
the Cook Finance Award. Selection is made by the finance faculty in
conjunction with the Booth College of Business and Professional Studies
scholarship committee.
This scholarship was established in memory of Dave Hancock and in honor
of Roger Woods. It is awarded annually to sophomore or junior accounting
majors who have successfully completed Intermediate Accounting I and
demonstrate the potential for a successful career in Accounting. The
Accounting faculty will select the recipient(s) based on performance in
the most recent academic year.

Given in memory of Dr. Charles Hawkins, professor emeritus of
accounting, in recognition of his years of distinguished service to
Northwest. Applicant must be a full-time, first-trimester freshman
student majoring in accounting. Also will be given consideration for
Karen Hawkins Memorial Accounting Scholarship.

Awarded in memory of Karen Hawkins, accounting graduate of Northwest
and daughter of Dr. Charles and Jackie Hawkins. Applicant must be a full-time, first-trimester freshman student majoring in accounting.

Recipient
shall be a continuing full time Northwest student with a declared a major
in accounting, economics or finance with first preference to accounting
majors. Preference shall also be given to students from Iowa, Missouri,
Nebraska, and Kansas, in that order that demonstrates financial need.
A senior finance major with at least a 3.00 GPA may apply for this
scholarship. Potential for success in the financial world is the major
criterion used in the selection process.
The accounting faculty selects the recipient on the basis
of academic standing, potential for completing an undergraduate degree and financial
need.

Each year the MSCPA's Educational Foundation awards approximately $40,000 in scholarships to students who are majoring in accounting at Missouri universities/colleges. High school seniors are awarded $500, and college students earn $1,250 to use toward their accounting education. A Minority Scholarship is also offered, and recipients receive $1,250. The highest-rated college applicant is presented the Don Breimeier Memorial Scholarship, which is an additional $1,000.
Recipient
shall be classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior at Northwest who has
declared a major in accounting, economics or finance. Preference will
be given to
Albany, Missouri R-III graduates who are involved in campus organizations and
hold leadership positions in campus organizations.
Marketing/Management
Profits earned from royalties for a book written by Cindy Kenkel will
fund one-four $500 scholarships for students majoring in management,
marketing, or international business. This book published by McGraw
Hill-Irwin features student cover letters and resumes. Students are
asked to submit a current resume and cover letter outlining how they fit
the scholarship criteria.

- Student must have declared a major in management, marketing, or
international business and have completed at least 75 hours when they
apply.
- Student must have an overall GPA of 3.25 with a B or higher in any
business courses. A copy of their most recent degree audit will need to
be attached to their cover letter and application.
- Active participation in a business department organization (SIFE,
DMD,SHRM,AMA, or PBL). Discuss both involvement and leadership you have
demonstrated for all applicable organizations.
- A quality cover letter and resume.
- A willingness to attend the Booth College Awards Ceremony TBA.
- Preference will be given to students who graduated from Maryville High School.
The Madonna and John Nothstine Scholarship is awarded to an
outstanding marketing major who is involved in AMA and will be attending
Northwest in the upcoming academic year. The recipient will be selected
on the basis of academic achievement, likelihood of success in
marketing, and financial need.
In the statement of career goals, applicants should indicate why they
believe they will be a success in marketing. Selection of the recipient
will be made by the marketing faculty of the Department of Business.
Must attend Awards Ceremony on TBA
Recipient shall have declared a major in marketing or management and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to a married student who graduated from a high school in Iowa; however, if no such student exists, the criteria can be expanded to help any undergraduate or graduate student from Iowa. Prior to receipt of the scholarship, the recipient shall share a written expression of gratitude to the donor.
Recipient shall be a university junior or senior and have declared a major in International Business. Recipient must maintain a 2.0 GPA
