AUTOMATIC RENEWAL SCHOLARSHIPS (NO APPLICATION NEEDED) FOR STUDENTS WHO ENTERED NORTHWEST IN THE FALL OF 2004 OR LATER:
Students who received the President's scholarship, Distinguished Scholar, Academic Excellence, Tower, Merit, Northwest Scholar, Transfer President's, All American Academic Team, Transfer Distinguished, Transfer Academic, Transfer Merit, University Scholar, Midwest Student Exchange, Out of State Award, Non-Resident Award, University Scholar, A+ Grant, A+ Scholarship may renew the scholarship with the completion of 24 credit hours per academic year and the following NW cumulative GPA: (See Disclaimers which may apply including summer enrollment).
DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR
GPA: 3.50 Northwest cumulative GPA and completion of 24 credit hours per academic year. If GPA is less than 3.50, student will follow Northwest Scholar, Tower Scholar and Academic Excellence Scholar requirements not eligible to return to the Distinguished Scholar program.Award Amount: $2,500Maximum Award: 8 trimesters within consecutive academic years.

DIRECTLY AWARDED CONTINUING SCHOLARSHIPS
The following scholarships are made available by funds from the Northwest Foundation and are awarded based upon a variety of criteria as designated by the donors. No separate application is required, however students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered.
Marion and HJ Fischer Scholarship (Non-Residents Paying MO Tax)Awarded in the form of a fee waiver, this scholarship is for non-residents who are paying Missouri tax. No separate application is required. A copy of the Missouri tax form verifying the amount of tax paid should be sent to Cashiering. Students would receive a reduction on non-resident tuition equal to the amount of tax paid, however a student would not pay less than Resident tuition.

AMERICAN DREAM GRANTThrough the American Dream Grant, Northwest will fill the gap between the cost of tuition, room and board, primary textbooks and the use of a computer for qualifying students so that the maximum annual payment the student will need to make during their first two years at Northwest will be no more than $2,500 annually (combined fall and spring terms). To qualify, students must be accepted to Northwest as a first-time freshman, complete the FAFSA and have an EFC (expected family contribution) of 2000 or less (dependent or independent students). The student must also apply for all federal, state, institutional and athletic scholarships or grants that he or she might be eligible for. After all resources are added together, America Dream funds will be used to fill any remaining gap down to $2,500, the maximum contribution required of the student. All federal and state awarding guidelines will be followed.
Award: Varies. Cost of tuition, room/board, textbooks and computer usage fees, (standard double occupancy and standard aladine meal plan) minus all federal, state, institutional funds and $2,000 (combined fall and spring terms) maximum student contribution. Awards are for only fall and spring trimesters and maximum number awarded is subject to available funding. Student must live on campus to receive assistance for room and board. BRIGHT FLIGHT (MISSOURI HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP)Eligible students may renew with a cumulative 2.50 GPA and completion of 24 credit hours per academic year.
Award: $2,000
ROBERT C. BYRDMissouri resident who has scored in the top 10% of ACT test and ranked in the top 10% of graduating class. Must show outstanding academic achievement. Must file a statement of registration certifying that you are registered with selective services or that, for a specific reason, you are not required to be registered. Must also submit a completed application packet. MISSOURI TEACHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPMissouri residents who wish to become certified teachers in Missouri public schools. Must rank in top 15% on ACT or SAT. Nonrenewable. Becomes a loan if student changes major or does not enter education field upon graduation. MISSOURI MINORITY TEACHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPAwarded to an incoming freshman who is majoring in either math education or science education. Applicant must be a minority student (African American, Asian American, Hispanic American or Native American). Applicants must be admitted to the university and rank in the top 25% of their high school class or score at or above 75% on the ACT or SAT. MARGUERITE ROSS BARNETT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPMissouri resident 18 years of age or older, enrolled at least half time, but less than full-time. Be employed and compensated for at least 20 hours of work per week. Demonstrate financial need as determined by FAFSA prior to scholarship Deadline. NATIONAL GUARD SCHOLARSHIPThe purpose of this Award is to encourage students to serve their country through the National Guard and at the same time, continue their education at Northwest. Students must provide a letter of good standing from their commanding officer as proof of eligibility, maintain a 2.50 GPA and be enrolled on a full-time basis (12 hours or more per trimester) to receive the scholarship.
Award: Students residing in residence halls will receive $700 per year while those residing off-campus will receive $475 per year. Deadline: None
ROTC-CAMPUS BASED ARMY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMTwo and three-year scholarships available each year to qualified students who are enrolled or will enroll in the Army ROTC Program.
Provided: payment of all tuition, fees as they relate to major and monthly tax-free stipend of $200 a month for up to 10 months per year for duration of the scholarship. To apply, contact Military Science department, Attention: Major Stackhouse, 800.647.2881 or stackhouse@griffon.mwsc.edu.

ROTC-NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 4-YEAR AND 3-YEAR ADVANCE DESIGNEEIncludes payment of full-tuition, lab and activity fees as they relate to the students' majors, plus $200 per month tax-free stipend for up to 10 months per school year for the duration of the scholarship. Includes $225 each semester for books.

ALPHA PHI OMEGA SCHOLARSHIPJunior or senior who cannot contribute three-fourths of their estimated expenses for the year and whose need cannot be met through other programs available through the Office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance. NICK BOWEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to full-time students in good academic standing who are active members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. The recipient must submit a one page essay to demonstrate how they overcame some type of barrier to succeed in their education. Contact Sigma Phi Epsilon advisor for application.

CLEAR, CAYHOGA, MUDDY CREEKS SCHOLARSHIP
Eligible recipients of the Clear, Cayhoga, Muddy Creeks Scholarship must be Missouri residents currently residing in the district previously known and designated as the Clear, Cayhoga, Muddy Creeks Watershed District. This former watershed district includes a large portion of the West Nodaway R-l School District and small portions of the Maryville R-ll and North Nodaway R-Vl School Districts. Eligible recipients shall be Northwest freshman or sophomores, freshman minimum 2.0 cumulative high school GPA, and sophomores minimum 2.5 Northwest cumulative GPA. Eligible recipients shall have demonstrated good school and community citizenship, and all other factors being equal, financial need may be the determining factor in the selection of recipients.

PAT DANNER SCHOLARSHIPContact Student Support Services, 660.562.1862.Available to all majors enrolled in at least nine credit hours per trimester showing progress toward completion of degree requirements. Preference for this Award will be given to a "displaced homemaker," with second preference given to a similarly worthy student who is overcoming barriers to obtain their college degree.

FRANK GRUBE SCHOLARSHIPRecipients shall have minimum 2.50 GPA and shall meet at least one of the following criteria: English major or minor, Blue Key Society member, or varsity tennis player.

WELTON IDEKER REGENTS SCHOLARSHIPRecipients shall show exemplary leadership abilities in academic and civic activities, maintain 3.00 cumulative GPA, have at least sophomore standing and demonstrate financial need. Dependents of employees of Ideker Construction may be given preference.

J.W. JONES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPAvailable to students with junior standing (75 or more credit hours). Must demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership and/or service accomplishments, involvement with campus/community, and financial need. Preference will be given to students who have recommendation letters substantiating these qualities.

MARVIN E. AND KATHRYN B. LEHNEN SCHOLARSHIPRecipients shall have completed minimum 2 trimesters at Northwest with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher by May 2006. First preference shall be given to non-traditional students majoring in business, and then those majoring in any discipline, may then be considered. Recipients must maintain employment throughout the school year, demonstrate financial need, and show considerable commitment to higher education. Two letters of reference (one from an instructor and one from work supervisor) must be submitted with application. Scholarship application available at Student Support Service Office.

THE NATIONAL RESIDENCE HALL HONORARY BEARCAT CHAPTER LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPRecipients shall be full-time undergraduate students, with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Two leadership Awards available to students who have lived in Northwest residence halls for 2-3 trimesters. Recipient must demonstrate participation in betterment of residence halls. NATIVE AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIPThe recipient shall be classified as a junior or a senior by the University and shall maintain enrollment for the fall and spring trimesters and be considered a full time student by the University. The recipient shall maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. The recipients shall be actively invoved with PowWow at Northwest Missouri State University and shall addtionally demonstrate dedicated involvement and commitment to the preservation, promotion and celebration of the Native American heritage in general. NORTHWEST SUPPORT STAFF SCHOLARSHIPEligible recipients shall be enrolled as a full-time student, shall maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA and submit a letter to the committee stating academic and/or career goals. Eligible recipients shall be children or spouses of any Northwest Missouri State University support staff employee who is employed on the final day of the trimester general registration in which the scholarship is awarded. The committee, at their discretion, may consider financial need and involvement in school and community activities in the selection.

SOCIETY OF INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADORS (SIA) SCHOLARSHIP
SIA is a group of donors committed to providing rewarding experiences to international students thereby creating a more robust learning environment at Northwest.SIA has endowed this scholarship to recognize outstanding contributions made by an international student (a foreign national student in F-1 or J-1 visa status only) to promote and create a pluralistic campus climate. Awarded to a continuing undergraduate international student (as classified by the International Affairs Director)who is enrolled on a full-time basis at Northwest Missouri State University, the recipient shall have a minimum 2.75 NW cumulative GPA of twelve earned Northwest credit hours and have demonstrated merit and involvement within the Northwest campus and community. Specifically the applicant will demonstrate leadership or merit in promoting intercultural programs or experiences or will have demonstrated skill educating the general student population about the personal and professional importance of understanding international issues and possessing different perspectives thus marking the traits of a globally prepared citizen.
