Jazz Ensemble

Northwest has established a reputation for quality and excellence in jazz education. The Northwest Jazz Ensemble is a select group of musicians dedicated to the performance of a wide variety of jazz and commercial music. With recent tours to New Orleans and Chicago, this ensemble annually sponsors the Northwest District Jazz Band performance and the Northwest Jazz Festival. The following guest artists have performed with our students in recent years: Jamey Aebersold, Buddy Baker, Jerry Coker, Roger Neumann, Jay Sollenberger, Willi Thomas, Clark Terry, Slide Hampton, Gary Foster and Mike Metheny. Other opportunities include the Northwest Studio Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combos.
