Dr. Black joined the Northwest faculty in 2008. His fiction appears in New Texas: A Journal of Literature and Culture and he has published biographical scholarship on early twentieth-century American writers with the Modernist Journal Project (www.modjourn.org). He is the interim co-editor of The Laurel Review and specializes in nineteenth and twentieth-century American literature. His research and teaching interests include literatures of American satire, regionalism, and social realism.
