Awarded to students who are actively involved in forensics. Recipients are not required to major in the Communication, Theatre, & Languages Department. Auditions will be held by appointment on an individual basis. Students will be asked to present a brief selection of their choosing. The selection may be all or part of a speech done in competition. Please contact the Director of Forensics, David Nelson at (660) 562-1506 to schedule a specific audition time.

Award: Several $250-$500

Awarded to students who have selected a major in Theatre or Speech/Theatre Education. Prior to scheduling an appointment to audition students must submit an application and resume detailing their prior theatre experience. A photograph may be included but is not required. Students interested in performance scholarships are asked to present two contrasting monologues of no longer than 3 minutes combined. Students interested in technical theatre/design will be asked to describe their area of interest and to present and/or describe examples of their work (photographs, renderings, designs, are encouraged). If unable to attend on either audition day but still interested in arranging a scholarship audition (performance, tech/design, or both), a student should contact Dr. Joe Kreizinger, Theatre Program Director, at jkreizi@nwmissouri.edu as soon as possible and prior to the application deadline. While attendance on "Scholarship Day" is highly preferred, alternative arrangements may be possible. Please contact the department office (660) 562-1279 to schedule a specific date & time.

Awarded to first time students who have successfully completed a dual credit course through the Department of Communication, Theatre and Languages at Northwest. Students must receive a final grade of a 'B' or higher, have a high school GPA of at least 3.0 and have an ACT score of 21 or better. All recipients must officially declare a major in one of the programs offered by the Department of Communication, Theatre, and Languages.
