Northwest's notebook computer rental program is available to students who live off and on-campus for the summer trimester.
The summer rental program is especially good news to students who currently live on-campus and have a university-provided notebook computer. Current campus-housing students, who want to keep their notebook computer for the summer, do not need to fill out an additional contract and do not have to exchange their current notebook computer for a different notebook computer as long as they are preregistered for summer or fall classes and have completed a fall housing contract. A $75.00 summer rental fee will automatically billed to their account.
Typically students living in campus housing must return their notebook computers within 5 business days of withdrawing from campus housing or on the last day of finals week of the Spring Trimester, whichever is sooner. The latest the notebook computer may be returned without being charged a replacement fee is the first business day after finals week.
Non-campus (off-campus) housing students who are currently renting or are wanting to rent a notebook computer for the summer can also take advantage of the summer rental program.
Students living off-campus and who are preregistered for summer or fall classes must visit the Electronic Campus Support Center to fill out a summer rental contract. Summer rental of a notebook computer for non-campus housing students is $75.00. Non-campus housing students, who are currently renting a notebook computer, will need to return their current notebook computer at the time they come in to fill out a summer rental contract.
The cost of renting a university notebook computer during the fall or spring trimesters for students living off campus is $150.00 per trimester, which is a total of $300 for the full fall/spring academic year. Off-campus renters are required to return their notebook computers on the last day of finals week of the particular trimester they have a rental contract signed for. The latest the notebook computer may be returned without being charged a replacement fee is the first business day after finals week of the trimester in question.
Campus and non-campus housing students who fail to meet their contractual requirements will be issued a $1,000.00 replacement cost fine.
