Northwest Missouri State University provides email services to faculty, staff and students.
Northwest provides electronic mail services tofaculty and staff through an in-house Microsoft Exchange service. While students have a separate email service through Microsoft’s Office 365 cloud service.
Faculty, staff and students can use the pre-loaded Microsoft Outlook software on their campus-issued notebook computers to manage their campus email.
Outlook is a personal information manager produced by Microsoft, and is part of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Although used primarily as an e-mail application, it also provides a calendar, note taking and journal, task and contact management.
Northwest's Information Technology (IT) department, in an effort to help campus users take advantage of and understand this powerful communication, educational and professional tool, provides basic how-to guide information on how to use Outlook, Faculty, Staff, Misc. Email, and Student Email (Office 365).

Accessing your email settings on smart phones can vary depending on the operating system (OS) and phone model, so please view your phone’s instruction manual or its manufacturer’s web site instructions before attempting to set up your email on your smart phone. Here is one example of where to find the Exchange (ActiveSync) account on an iPhone (also applicable for iPad and iPod touch):
Note: To modify your exchange settings, select Settings, select Mail, Contacts, and Calendars, select your Exchange account and then select Account Info.
