Northwest: Home to the
Eastern United States. Many cultivars are seedless. Leaves are pinnately compound, opposite, 8 to 12 inches long with three to seven leaflets. Leaflet stems are very long. Leaves can turn yellow or purple in autumn. Bark is gray with diamond shaped ridges. Can grow to 80 feet. The wood is valued for furniture making.
