Members of the Nebraska/Western Iowa Chapter are calling all Northwest alumni in the area to ask for their help and input in better serving the area's alumni. Input is being sought on types of events in which the chapter could participate. The chapter has already established a successful Thirsty Thursday tradition where members gather the first Thursday of every month at a local establishment for food, beverages and socializing. Ideas for future events include other socials, networking events, guest speakers and forming recreational sports teams. Anyone who enjoyed their college experience or enjoys sharing in Bearcat pride is encouraged to get involved. For more information, contact Joe Glab '01 at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.freewebs.com/bearcatalumnine/ or www.nwmissouri.edu/alumni/chapters/nebraska_iowa.htm.
The Nebraska/Western Iowa Alumni and Friends Chapter enjoyed presentations from local business leaders as well as by several Northwest faculty and staff. The chapter, which welcomes all Northwest graduates, spouses, family and friends, continues to hold monthly social gatherings on Thirsty Thursday (first Thursday every month) in Omaha, Neb. Please contact the area officers at email@example.com for location information. Chapter leaders are seeking ideas for future events and are considering hosting events outside of the Omaha metropolitan area. Officer elections will take place this spring.
The monthly events continue for the Nebraska/Western Iowa Chapter on Thirsty Thursday (the first Thursday of every month) at the Old Chicago Restaurant in downtown Omaha's Old Market area. Everyone is welcome, including current and former students, graduates, spouses, family and friends.
Chapter leaders request ideas for future events -- even events outside of the immediate Omaha area. In the past few months, chapter leaders have been contacted by alumni in Beatrice and Lincoln, Neb., and Shenandoah and Sioux City, Iowa, as well as several other locations. If you are interested in helping with an event, please attend one of the regular monthly meetings in Omaha or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Nebraska/Western Iowa Alumni and Friends Chapter's spring events have attracted a variety of people from throughout the region. Each month the chapter gathers for Thirsty Thursday (the first Thursday of every month) at the Old Chicago Restaurant in downtown Omaha's Old Market area. The group welcomes all former and current Northwest students, graduates, spouses, family and friends. Chapter leaders are requesting ideas for future chapter events and speakers. Ideas submitted through e-mail are welcome, and responses received following the spring alumni magazine are being incorporated into some of the chapter's future monthly meetings. To submit an idea or for more information about the chapter, please contact David Morgan '85, chapter president, at email@example.com.
The Nebraska/Western Iowa Chapter has hosted several successful events this year -- some that exceeded 80 in attendance. All Northwest graduates, spouses, family and friends are invited to the monthly social gathering on Thirsty Thursday (the first Thursday of every month) at Old Chicago Restaurant in downtown Omaha's Old Market. Please let us know if there are any Northwest professors or other University leaders who you think would be good guest speakers for our chapter. Send your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org.
