Chapter Updates

Fall 2012

Springfield Chapter members send kudos to Karen Logullo Bader ’86, ’95 for setting up the chapter’s Facebook page ( NWMSU.Springfield) and for serving on the Northwest Alumni Association’s Board of Directors. Chapter activities have included an outing to Southwest Baptist University to watch the Northwest Bearcats basketball games and a "Kids Fishing Day" for students from Branson. In July, the chapter enjoyed a picnic with family and friends. The chapter also is continuing its efforts to raise funds for its scholarship.

Fall 2011

The Springfield Chapter hosts monthly socials the third Thursday of each month at T.G.I. Friday's in Springfield. Chapter membership continues to grow, and area alumni and friends - or any Bearcats visiting the Ozarks - are welcome to join the chapter at events and socials. The Springfield Chapter, which has experienced a great second "season," meets the third Thursday of each month at TGI Fridays in Springfield. The chapter averages about 20 people at the monthly meetings and has an active membership of more than 40 alumni and friends. Springfield Chapter

The Northwest Alumni Association recently chartered its 16th chapter. More than 40 alumni and friends from the Springfield area gathered at Mr. Yen's for the April 9 event. As part of the celebration, Steve Sutton '71, director of alumni relations, presented the Springfield Alumni and Friends Chapter banner to Mark DeVore '71, '75, the chapter's president. The Northwest Missouri State University Alumni Association is establishing alumni chapters worldwide. Organized by alumni volunteers and supported by the Office of Alumni Relations, these chapters sponsor a variety of activities for alumni to get together socially and stay abreast of news from Northwest Missouri State University.
